Midday Interview: Tobacco Use in the LGBTQ+ Community

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An issue that has plagued the LGBTQ+ community for years now is tobacco use. Sadie Jensen, a tobacco prevention educator with Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department, and Lauren Falconer, a manager at OutNebraska and the vice president of “Tobacco Free Lancaster County,” joined Channel 8 News at midday to talk about why this has been a problem and ways to help.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nov. 18 is the American Cancer Society’s “Great American Smokeout,” raising awareness to help loved ones quit smoking.

Sophia Yelkin, a public health educator with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department, joined Channel 8 News at midday to talk about the LLCHD’s resources in helping others quit smoking.
